After nearly 20 years in administration and medical support roles, I’ve seen how challenging and costly it can be to keep a private medical practice running smoothly behind the scenes. While managing a busy clinic for five years, I discovered some discouraging trends: despite our team working diligently, the medical billing revenue did not reflect our efforts and numbers continued to decline.
When I stepped into the medical revenue cycle management side of the business, not by choice, but out of necessity, I began working closely with our medical billing company, tracking denials, auditing procedures, and reaching out to patients with outstanding balances. It wasn’t long before I realized how much I loved the work. Finding lost revenue in medical billing became a personal mission, and I quickly saw the difference it made, not just on paper, but in the stability of the entire practice.
That experience led me to become a certified medical coder and biller. When we unexpectedly found ourselves between medical billing companies, I stepped in and took over the full revenue cycle management. The prior company had disengaged, and the incoming team was still waiting on EHR integration/access. Within weeks, accounts receivable days dropped significantly, cash flow improved, and claim denials were under control. It felt like everything finally clicked.
But as soon as billing was handed back to a third party, the same issues returned. Denied claims were ignored, payments stalled, and our accounts receivable started to climb again. I realized these weren’t isolated problems, they were patterns, and costing practices like ours more than just money.
That’s when I founded NH Medical Billing.
Based in Lincoln, Nebraska, the NH Medical Billing team supports a broad range of specialties locally and throughout the region. We specialize in helping private practices regain control of their revenue cycle, not just through accurate medical coding and timely submissions, but through consistent follow-up, clean processes, and a deep understanding of how practices actually operate.
We don’t approach this work as outsiders. We’ve been in your shoes, and we know what’s at stake which is why we build real relationships with your staff, stay actively engaged in your denial management and payment reimbursements, and treat your revenue like it’s our own.
For us, this isn’t just business, it’s personal.
To support private practice physicians by providing accurate, attentive, and personalized medical billing and coding services that reduce revenue loss, improve cash flow, and allow providers to focus on patient care, not paperwork.
